The flower shaped country of Thailand is sometimes called the
Rice Bowl of the South East Asia for centuries it was known as Siam to Foreigners and Bangkok was known as Krung Thep. This country in 1949 had its name changed officially to Thailand, which means the land of the free. The majority of the population is Thai and 93% of them are Buddhist.
