Richly clad in warm colours, bedecked with magnificent jewellary, adorned with sweet smelling flowers and anointed with perfume the Bride is always best on her wedding day but India tradition and culture makes the Indian Bride ever more enchanting.

Vermilion, scarlet and red are the most favoured colours for the bridal dress as they are considered very auspicious. They are however, certain exceptions, the Kerala brides who are usually in stark white, the Tamilnadu Bride who have a wide choice of colours, the Maharashtrian Brides whose favour is also not limited and who often favour green or yellow. Generally, however the traditional colour worn by brides is red, especially in the north.
